Paint the Castro Red

On World AIDS Day

Eat! Drink! Shop! Get Tested! And Commemorate the Day!

Commemorate AIDS and join us on December 1st to PAINT THE CASTRO RED. Show your support by being a patron to participating Castro District businesses, restaurants, and bars who will donate 10 to 15% of the day's sales to the 30AIDS campaign. You can also participate in confidential and free free HIV testing, join a flash mob or candlelight vigil, and share how HIV has impacted your life in our video booth! Castro Street will be adorned with red lights, red ribbons, red balloons, and much more! AIDS is still here: Do Something!

Paint the Castro Red will help us remember the many San Franciscans who have been lost to AIDS and will inspire our community into action, to not only get tested for HIV and protect themselves, but to also help those affected by HIV/AIDS. All funds raised will be distributed to the 30AIDS coalition of San Francisco HIV organizations.

Click here if you are a Castro District business that would like to donate 10-15% of the days’ sales to the 30AIDS Campaign.

San Francisco’s leading HIV/AIDS service organizations have joined together and created 30AIDS - a campaign to raise awareness and money while paying tribute to those who have passed away and the individuals who have helped along the way.

Thirty years ago, on June 5, 1981 the Center for Disease Control and Prevention published the first mention of what later was named as AIDS. Over the past 30 years, we have suffered great losses and have come together as a community to overcome unimaginable hurdles. Though we have made and celebrated many advances, challenges still remain to stop an epidemic that has claimed the lives of so many.
After 30 years, AIDS is still here.

   Where were you in 1981?

How has AIDS touched your life?
What will you do about AIDS?
At the end, Please say "AIDS is still
       here. Do something!".
